On the weekend of August 15th, a few of us stayed in the picturesque Milehouse Cottage near Kincraig in the Cairngorms.
On Saturday, Niel and Andrew cycled up Glenfeshie to the Ruigh Aiteachain Bothy, crossing the Feshie River before heading back on the other side of the Glen. Meanwhile, Colin made the most of the summer heat by spending the day paddleboarding on Loch Insch. The others spent the day out walking in the hills. Phil and Justine went out to Leathad an Taobhain, while Dave conquered Mullach Clach a’ Bhlàir and Louise and I completed an adventurous loop down into Glen Einach via a gully, taking an off-track route back.

That evening, we all enjoyed a curry night followed by some stunning slides from Niel on former JMCS expeditions to Paldor and Naya Kanga in Nepal. It was inspiring to see some familiar faces in some very unfamiliar settings! Truly spectacular images though, made even better by Niel’s fine pudding creation, as can be seen below.

The following day, most of us opted for a fairly casual day to make the most of the late summer Scottish sun. Niel and Andrew were keen to get out though and cycled from Tullochgrue to Loch Einach and back. Slightly further afield, Phil and Justine went up Beinn Mholach, with a good view of Shiehallion in the background.
All in all, a great weekend was had enjoying some of the finest weather Scotland has had to offer all year.
