Hut Information and Location
Our iconic hut is the most remote in the UK and the situation unrivalled. At the foot of the Cuillin Mountains, fabulous climbing, scrambling and walking opportunities are on your doorstep!
Coruisk Memorial Hut is situated on the Island of Skye at the head of Loch Scavaig, close to where the River Scavaig flows the few hundred metres from Loch Coruisk to the Sea. It is about 100m from a landing stage served by boat from Elgol. (OS Sheet 32, Grid Ref: NG 487197). The Hut is self contained and sleeps 9 in bunks within the main room. The bunks have a mattress and pillow. Sleeping bags are required and you may wish to bring a pillow cover, or your own pillow. Power is supplied by bottled gas that serves the cookers and stove. Water is supplied by a pipe running from the “Mad burn”. All kitchenware is provided. Just bring food, drinks and your climbing gear!

The hut is ideally situated for walks including to Sgurr na Stri which gives great views of Loch Coruisk and The Cuillins, Druim nan Ramh, or low level walks around Loch na Cuilce and Loch Coruisk. How about Climbing on the iconic Dubhs ridge or a traverse of The Cuillin ridge? There are climbs of all grades in the area and recent development of local crags.

The wild environment also gives you a good chance of seeing Eagles, Sea Eagles, seals, dolphins and whales.
Getting There
You have two options, both with their pros and cons. These days most visitors use the excellent services of Boat Trip providers from Elgol. This is is an extremely attractive journey across the sea to Loch Scavaig, with the Cuillins providing a jaw dropping backdrop.
