Location Map

Spring! This time of year has finally arrived!

With it come longer days, sunshine (eventually!), flowers, leaves on the trees, lambs running free on the lush grass but most importantly the first JMCS camping meet of 2026!

The proposed location would be the isle of Arran. The island is full of options, classic granite climbs, four Corbetts with stunning ridges, hikes, trail running, kayaking, mountain biking, bird watching and many more!

The idea for this trip would be :
Either stay at the Glen Rosa campsite (£5/night/person – Basic amenities – Shower & Toilet – If more than 5 tents I\’ll just need to contact the campsite to let them know a group is coming).
Or wild camp further up the glen and closer to the main climbing area.

I have already seen wonders from JMCS members on previous meets, so I am sure we could organised a communal meal on the Saturday evening.

The logistics to get to the island are almost as unpredictable as the weather in Scotland and can often feel like a crux on a hard route!
Currently the ferry from Ardrossan to Brodick is the only option, and I have attached the timetable with this email.

FYI: A return ferry ticket with or without a bike is currently £10.30 and an open return train ticket from Glasgow to Ardrossan is £11.20

Please apply below if interested and I’ll make a WhatsApp group.

Let’s hope for a great weekend!
